HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2023
Wow! 2023 was another incredibly busy year for our Action Team. It’s so heartening to take a moment to round up everything we have accomplished last year:
We committed to a quarterly market and come rain or shine we hosted four events with a mix of brilliant local traders and musicians. We have built a powerhouse market team who work so hard, thank you.
Local sensation @freyaridings treated us to an impromptu set at our market back in the summer and brought the high street to a standstill!
Arbeit Studios have opened in PG, hosting popups, markets, exhibitions and community activities. It’s great to have you with us and we can’t wait to see the calendar of events roll out this year.
We were interviewed by BBC radio as well as being interviewed by @px_change for a case study of our work.
We brought @muswellhillbillybrewers to PG for a summer of craft beer at Arbeit. Great times!
We secured permissions for the mural on Aldermans Hill bridge, a project we hope to complete next year.
We helped @totswapshop find PopUp space on the high street and now they are joining us in PG long term from February!
People’s Pantry came to Devonshire Square with their refill truck and plastic free goodness! We hope to line up more businesses to drop by in 2024.
Thanks to all our greening volunteers who have worked on the beds in the train station, Cromie Close, the job centre, the high street trees and beds with pollinator friendly plants.
Finally, we are delighted to share that after a successful pilot scheme, funding has been secured for Devonshire Square to be made permanent! Plans and designs are in early stages with the project going out to tender and then work due to commence in Winter 2024.
Once again, huge thanks go to our committee, our team of volunteers and the businesses and community groups who partner with us. We couldn’t do any of it without you all as well as you, the PG locals who support us!
