engaging the whole community with Events and Social Media

• Our first High Street Spring Clean in May 2019 engaged over 100 local volunteers and businesses to turn out and plant donated trees, scrape fly-stickers, clean graffiti, litter-pick and regenerate planters and rain gardens. We now hold regular ‘clean ups’ every season.

• We hosted Palmers Green’s first Vintage Flea in November 2019, taking over a vacant shop unit for the weekend, we had nearly 4,500 visitors through the doors to buy vintage items, clothes, furniture with tea, cake and cocktails provided by local traders.

• We have encouraged and supplied local womblers (volunteer litter pickers) with equipment and contacts to keep Palmers Green and the New River free of rubbish, litter picks take place regularly.

• We have hosted volunteer coffee mornings and plan more events so locals can meet and find like-minded people to start their own community projects or initiatives with PGAT support.

• We have also developed our social media platforms and our followers have grown organically to over 3000 people, allowing us to promote our high street, events and news to thousands of local followers and actively engage and communicate with the community.
