PALMERS GREEN WELCOMES ENFIELD'S FIRST TOOL LIBRARY
Palmers Green Library is now home to something brand new for our borough – Enfield’s first ever Tool Library. Whether you’re tackling a bit of DIY, trying your hand at gardening, or need equipment for a one-off project, the Tool Library offers an affordable, sustainable way to borrow rather than buy.
How It Works
Much like a traditional library, members can borrow tools for a set period, use them for their projects, and then return them for the next person to enjoy. The collection includes everything from drills and saws to gardening tools and specialist equipment – perfect for anyone who wants to save money, avoid clutter, and reduce waste.

Early Bird Offer
To celebrate the launch, there’s an early bird membership offer of just £30, available until the end of August. After that, the standard membership rates will apply, so now’s a great time to join.
Volunteer and Donate
The Tool Library is a community-driven project and it needs local support to thrive. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer – whether helping with admin, maintaining tools, or welcoming new members. The team is also calling for donations of good-quality tools to expand the collection and ensure a wide variety is available for all.
Why It Matters
The Tool Library is part of a growing movement across the UK to make communities more sustainable, sharing resources rather than buying items that often end up unused. It saves residents money, cuts down on waste, and helps bring people together through practical skills and community spirit.
